This has been so fun! And a TON easier than how it was on Sims–you don’t have to fight with the game just to put blinds on a window. It’s not a struggle to put a building under the ground like it would be on Sims (while I played it). It’s so much more freeing! Here’s what I’ve managed to build lately:
Build a room and then zoom out so you can see an arrow pointing downward. Using this, you can put the room below the ground! You can even adjust the walls once they’d been put down without rebuilding. Grab the wall itself and use the arrow to pull them out as far as needed. That’s how I got that porch to work out in this image.

And I noticed how some folks in chat were making the roof come a bit over the door and tried it myself! maybe the weight bearing poles could be a different color but I’m very thrilled how it came out. Thanks to the folks I noticed doing this.
