You know the best part about having that gold armor painted up? …that I’m going to have to re-paint it when I finally add in the light source. Hopefully, it won’t be too much reworking at that point.

(Dec 10 edit: The light has been painted and is shining on the characters! Adding it to the background soon.)

As I’ve said before, this is a newer version of “Get Off Me“, which I painted with Clip Studio Paint in 2016. It’s turned out to be a perfect image to put Painter 2021 through its paces. And it helps that I can go between programs to do little touches of everything, since they both save as .psd. (If it weren’t for that, I would have been so much more afraid of Painter. XD)

What I like about Painter is that I love how well the brushes pick up from the colors underneath the layer I’m working on, and it also shows some of the brush strokes. It’s also got a texture to the brushes that I can’t quite get on CSP, as much as I love it.
To be fair, I’ve only played with the Acrylic paints so far. I don’t know all that much about the Oils or other types of painting that Painter is able to mimic.

So, if you can find a decent price for Corel Painter, I would definitely recommend it at this point.
