The first things that I noticed when I saw this piece are the fish in the water. Aren’t they gorgeous? And then look at how he colored this! He did a brilliant job in directing the eye with the hues he put in different spaces. With the links to his gallery in this feature, you have got to take a look at the rest of his art.

(Even though I hope you’re doing that on all these features without me asking!)

This one is just fun. Isn’t his skill with these lines something neat? And I really enjoy how close we are to that squirrel in the lower left! Another thing that I really enjoy is how he closed in what’s nearest in focus–it looks like it’d just be a natural forest space. Wouldn’t you like to take a walk along that path, too?

I really like how he was able to use the canvas on this piece. The stone housing and then the path that goes right beside it, along with the hill in front of the house with all the plants just works out perfectly. Do you notice how much gray he has in the house, ground, and sky? How he managed all of it and still kept everything with its own identity is just proof of how good he is painting!
